2015 National Blue Ribbon School

Dear High School Students, Parents, and Guardians:

The summer is ending and the 2015-2016 school year is upon us.  We are anticipating a successful and productive school year. I look forward to continuing to work with you and all members of the Bentworth School District community as the principal at Bentworth High School. I had the pleasure of performing my student teaching responsibilities at the high school under the supervision of Mr. Chris Amos during the 1995-1996 school year. I knew then that this was a special place to work, and I’m excited to be back where I started my career in education.

We encourage students to take advantage of the many new experiences and opportunities provided for them as students at the high school.  Expectations are high for all students to be successful and support is available for those experiencing difficulty.  To be successful, students must attend regularly, be a participant in class and extracurricular activities, and be a responsible student with regard to preparation and homework.  We need parental support to reinforce a positive attitude about learning.

Parents are always encouraged to stay in touch with the school, and especially with their child’s teachers. Each teacher has a specific email address. Email addresses are available on the district website and students are informed of their teachers’ email address as well. The district has a new parent portal that will be available on October 12, 2015.  Please attend our open house or call the school for more information regarding this feature.
